Course Overview
We had two goals in 7th Grade Art & Design this year:
1. Explore a variety of materials and processes
2. Explore ways to use our voices and personalities in our own art
Even though our year in the classroom was cut short, we explored many different materials and many different styles before we left. As we moved school in the "virtual" world, we continued to explore new ideas and materials, as you can see in our Virtual Learning category. Please enjoy the wonderful artwork created by our 7th Grade All-Stars!

Carissa Dezort
As a pseudo-military brat, Carissa Dezort moved around a lot as a kid, and has continued the tradition of frequently relocating throughout adulthood. Having to adjust to new environments has very much informed Dezort's personal work, as well as her teaching philosophy. Her classroom practice centers in building relationships with students, and facilitating Art as expression of one's voice and personality. Dezort received her B.A. in Photography and Digital Imaging from Virginia Intermont College, and then went on to receive an MAT in Visual Arts Education from Wayne State University. Lately, her personal work has focused on large-scale abstract paintings, collage and assemblage work, and observational drawing. Feel free to contact her via email or Instagram!
